Submissions Guidelines
We released our Autumn 2009 Edition on October 29, 2009. We will open for submissions to the Summer 2010 Edition on May 1, 2010.
We accept electronic submissions of short fiction, essays, poetry, and visual art. All submissions should include the author's full name and a brief biography.
Our key demographic comprises expatriates, travelers studying or working outside of their home countries. Thus, the stuff of travel and culture will figure prominently into the material we select for publication.
In general...
- Short stories should be under 3000 words, and should be tasteful and character-driven
- Essays should be under 2000 words, and should be focused and inquisitive
- Poems should be written with careful attention to both content and form; no more than three poetry submissions per issue, please
- Visual artworks should be submitted in *.jpg, *.png, *.tif, or *.gif formats; file sizes should not exceed 250 KB
Please note that while we would love to pay each contributor for his or her submissions, we are unable to do so at this time. Presently, we provide remuneration to our contest winners only.
